Who is Loop’n’Mix?
“My background is a bit different from the usual filmmaker’s,” Justin, known online as Loop’n’Mix, explains. Growing up in France, he was initially on a path to play professional football. However, he found the reality of the sport more rigid than he expected. “When you’re in the game, it’s a lot stricter and less fun than I thought it would be,” he recalls. The intensity of constant coaching and teammates’ high expectations started to feel too much. “These days, more players are open about the mental challenges, but it wasn’t discussed much back then.”
Looking for a fresh start, Justin pivoted to entrepreneurship, trying his hand at e-commerce and drop shipping. But even as his ventures grew, he still felt like something was missing. “I wanted to do something more fulfilling,” he says. The release of tools like ChatGPT and Midjourney opened up a new world of creative possibilities, sparking his interest in AI and leading him to explore filmmaking.
Discovering Viggle
Early in his AI journey, Justin joined the community of Visible Makers on Discord, a group founded by Christian Fletcher that connects creators working with AI tools. “They recommended Viggle to me back in the very early days on Discord,” he shares.
At the time, most AI tools available for video creation were fairly limited in movement, focusing more on slow-motion effects than dynamic action. Viggle, however, offered something new. “With Viggle, you can go from slow-motion to full, proper movement. It’s the closest I’ve seen to capturing true, dynamic dance moves,” he explains. While the industry still faces some limitations with AI-driven movement, Viggle was a breakthrough, helping him capture scenes with energy and precision. “Viggle can match 90% of the dance moves I need,” he says.
The Workflow
Creating captivating content with AI is an art that requires many tools and techniques. Here’s how Justin approaches his work, combining different platforms to achieve polished results:
- Ideation: Every project starts with a few days of brainstorming and conceptualizing.
- Scriptwriting with Claude.ai: He uses this platform to formalize ideas and structure the story.
- Visuals with Midjourney and Freepik: Once the ideas are in place, he brings his concepts to life with visuals, generating images on Midjourney and sourcing elements from Freepik.
- Video Generation with Minimax, Kling, and Runway: Justin switches between these models depending on the specific shot. Minimax provides the dynamism he needs, while Kling excels at high-quality lip-syncing and varied angles.
- Dancing Scenes with Viggle AI: Viggle’s move feature has become his go-to for scenes requiring consistent motion and character presence. “If the large video-gen models don’t work for the scene, I turn to Viggle—it’s the best way to maintain character and scene consistency,” he explains.
- Upscaling with Krea: He used to rely on Kaiber and Morph Studio for upscaling, but he now uses Krea, which enhances the details and gives the video a sharper finish.
- Face swap with ComfyUI: To finalize the look of his characters, he performs a face swap using ComfyUI, ensuring consistency throughout the video.
- Extra Quality Enhancement with Topaz: For the final touch, Topaz adds a layer of refinement, delivering a polished, high-quality video.
Thoughts on AI and Future Goals
For Justin, this is just the beginning. He and six friends recently founded The Massive, an agency focused on creating AI-powered content across film, advertising, and music videos. “We want to be very AI and tech-forward,” he says, sharing their ambitions to grow the agency and work with leading brands in the AI film industry. “We want to play with the big guys and make an impact.”
Reflecting on the role of AI, he sees it as a transformative tool that democratizes content creation, enabling creators to bring ideas to life faster and with greater creative freedom. “I think we’re in an incredibly powerful era,” he says. “These tools make it possible to tell stories in ways we couldn’t imagine before.”
